Stock No.14902
A William IV mahogany card, games or side table. The top, with flame mahogany veneer with cross band borders and with ebony stringing, pivots through ninety degrees and the flap can then be lowered to form a square table. When lifted storage for games is revealed. When the top flaps are closed there can be seen an unusual barrel frieze. The central support is wrapped around with Greek Revival floral and foliate detail repeated on the four scrolled feet with the original brass castors neatly concealed within. Manner of Thomas Hope. English, circa 1830.
