An ornate pair of late 19th Century Meiji Period Imari vases of double gourd form, with hand painted decoration in red, blue and gold glazes on a white ground.
Japanese, late 19th century.
Notes: The gourd form is modelled on an Asian squash called the calabash, which had many uses and is symbolic of protection and good fortune.
