A mid 20th century copy of an 18th century Dutch or German fireback depicting cherubs with the Victory Wreath of Peace. This design can be seen as the backplate of a fire grate in the attached image below as illustrated in 'English Chimney-Pieces' by Guy Cadogan Rothery in 1927.
