A fine French Regence antique fireplace surround carved in high relief in white Statuary Marble. The panelled frieze, centred by a foliate cartouche held by trails of oak leaves and acorns symbolising fruitfulness, is flanked by a pair of square floral paterae on the endblocks set above scrolled, acanthus leaf carved and fluted console jambs. French circa 1860.
