A fine pair of 19th century Imari vases and covers.
Each with a bell shaped cover over the body, sweeping to a slightly chamfered rim. The covers with panels of flowers, the finials or decorative knobs on the lids are in the form of a guardian lion, also known as a shishi. The vase tapering to a small proud foot rim. The bodies decorated with abundant flowers and foliage, against a scrolled flower background.
